How To Stay Excited To Dress Up When Its Warm
This is probably dumb because I'm aware that it's smarter to just wear a tee shirt and shorts when its hot but fuck it im gonna stay dressed anyway because I love it. So here's an article and pod about how we make it happen lol
TL;DR
- Don't have a defeatest view on summer clothes. Instead, have warm weather clothes you actually like and you feel inspired to wear!
- Make summer looks/POV that you enjoy: riviera, 70s casual, disco, gorp, etc.
- Actually do things that help you enjoy summer: get cocktails, go to the beach, have a movie night, etc. This will help you make outfits

Yeah, im noticing that a lot of my summer outfits are just winter outfits with the outer layer shaved off. I propably need to bite the bullet and get more summer-specific stuff.

DO IT
I have already looked at the available fabric options twice today
I think its in the mental pipeline
This is the first summer where I actually feel good about and excited about getting dressed. @sioku you’re totally right about needing to find warm-weather specific items to be excited about, from head to toe. Loved all the photos in the blog post, lots of solid inspo!
i'm so glad you enjoyed it @OuiLoveCheese !! Its nothing radically new but it definitely helps!
once i had those gurkha shorts i was like "oh this is how you do summer right"
OPs first Bullet point was the game changer for me. I've always dreaded summer (they are miserable here), the last two years ive made an effort to own stuff that I love wearing. My summer wardrobe is expensive as fuck if brand new, lots of Portuguese Flannel shirts (like 4 and they can be found on sale and on eBay very often), some Corridor (sales + sample sales), and some linen pants. Its gotten to a point where I'm actually missing plain t-shirts in my collection. I still hate summer but at least I look good doing it
Yay im so glad!
