I've run into issue where I see in some chunks black areas and somewhere even only black squares
Hello, I found an issue atleast on my system. I have run into a lot of black squares while using shaders you provided in this post (BLISS and Photon shaderpacks are used), I even revomed config files so I'm sure that there are no changes in setting and reinstalled everything, mods and shaders. Still im running into black areas and black squares as provided in the picture.
Tho I have to say I have some mod installed but I dont think they should interfere with this issue. (Provided in pictures)
Then I wrote a comment on github https://gist.github.com/Steveplays28/52db568f297ded527da56dbe6deeec0e?permalink_comment_id=5134628#gistcomment-5134628
and someone suggested me to try changing the light engine in the settings from starlight to DH and then regenerate LODs. Did that but id didn't work. And after that I'm redirected here.
Thank you in advance for trying to investigate this issue. Have a nice day ;) (My time zone: UTC +2 CEST Central European Summer Time)

The problem is starlight, and changing the engine from starlight to DH won't fix the issue. DH 2.1.2 has a bug where it can't read starlight's format, this was not present in DH 2.1.0 and will be fixed in the next DH update. Removing starlight won't get rid of starlight's format.
As a side note: starlight was made obsolete in 1.20, so you don't need to use it
So how do I fix the issue when you are saying removing starlight wont get rid of the format that is causing the glitch?
And thank you I didn't know you don't have to use it.
the easiest fix would be to downgrade to DH 2.1.0 and wait for the next DH update
I see, thank you I'll try that out.
For DH to be compatible with Starlight, 1 optimalization needs to be disabled, so Starlight will hurt the DH performance
Where do I find the opimalization to disable it?
It is only avaible as an option in DH 2.1.3
In 2.1.2 it is always on, because no one thought that Starlight would corrupt vanilla chunks in this way
Oh, so that means I either have to upgrade or downgrade to get it fixed right?
And in 2.1.0 it was not yet implemented
Yes
Remember that 2.1.3 currently lack shader support until release
Ok I'll try that out and let you know and thank you for the help.
no problem!
So it seems to be fixed (by downgrading to 2.1.0), but I have one more question regarding the settings tab, where everytime I releaunch the game or just close and open the settings they change to custom instead of having the same setting as before.
its a known bug, it doesnt actually change any of your settings though
Nice and thank you
