Tectonic
Does Tectonic make rendering take longer?

World gen mods do affect the speed of generation of LODs and chunks in general. For Tectonic, I think its not a big slowdown, rather a small one.

So in general, whether you have world gen mods or not, is it best to afk while everything loads for the first time in a world?
But like everything else with dh, it depends on the hardware
Could be nothing, could take triple as long
Yea, I recommend maxing out
CPU Load
, DH's render distance and then just afking overnight or a few hours. Then you can decrease CPU Load
to minimum, or even disable Distant Generation
as a wholeWhat exactly does distant generation do
It generates LODs for chunks outside of your vanilla render distance, so you don't have to explore each chunks before DH can render these chunks as LODs
Is it better to have it on or off when exploring new areas?
If you care only for the chunks you explore: off, but it will make holes everywhere around you
Just keep it on if you are not exeriencing lag nor sturrer
