Lately, people reported getting black LODs when having Distant Horizons and Starlight together. You have to remove Starlight and regenerate the LODs by clearing the save. If you're lucky, you're only missing a relatively reasonable amount of LOD data. I'm uh, not as fortunate: https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/905438118746947687/1265640298755653685

Do you know if there is an alternative to the starlight mod cause it helps with fps no?

Minecraft version 1.20 and above. The lighting engine optimization made since this version of Minecraft has rendered Starlight redundant and obsolete.

Regenerate lods after removing, i.e. delete your current lod data.

Delete the corresponding file(s). Be sure to exit the game first before doing it.

It might not help though Because Starlight permanentny changed the vanilla chunks If some black chunks stay, you will have to update them to uncorrupt them

I know there's no perfect answers here, but this really helped me fix the black chunks in my world, thanks everyone!

How does one do that?

Go to affected chunk with no Starlight installed and place/destroy a block, then wait some time in close proximity

Is this the same issue? Deleted the old lod folder and starlight, but if I have to manually reload all this stuff its gonna take months

You can also downgrade to DH 2.1.0, which did not have this problem And the next DH versions won't have the problem as well

This is with DH 2.1.0? that's weird Never heard of downgrading not fixing that

Maybe Suplementaries? or different mod? Are you sure you regenerated the LODs after switching to 2.1.0?
Hephaistos
Hephaistos7mo ago
No, only after deleting Starlight. Shall I redo it

yes if is vanilla chuks Starlight corruption not LODs bug, so after it is generated that way it will stay no matter what version would you use after regeneration with DH 2.1.0 if should be gone
