Is it normal for the database to be 200GB big + that it breaks the Base game backup system?
Additional info to the last part
I mean with that the backup system for world and in the sense of it trying to write for some odd reasons the entire database into the advancements file and ignore like anything else in the world folder

How long have you used distant horizons for? Did you use to run older versions?
Because relativity recently, the compression got made much better
I use it since ca. 3 days and no this is my first time using it so no older versions
Oh, no that is really not supposed to happen then
Is the .SQLite file itself so large, or are the other database files that large?
well another thing i tried also using the "vacuum" command to i asume make it smaller but it pretty much just copied the file into another one i asume from the logs of it
What do you mean with that? DH doesn't have or add a vacuum command
orignally only the main one after i did the vacuum thing another one the.. "DistantHorizons.sqlite-wal" got as big too
uhm.. i just did what was writen in the last section of the #faq-general
Ah okay, I thought you meant in-game
Vacuuming only works for worlds that were generated before the compression changes
hmm ok i mean it did do "something" for like 10 minutes i mean the end result was the "DistantHorizons.sqlite-wal" getting a simliar size then "DistantHorizons.sqlite" and DistantHorizons.sqlite-wal getting a little bit bigger... but i havent noticed anything else
Very strange
How long did it take to get the database that big?
i honestly dont know i only just looked today into the files after it failed to back up the world...
and i installed and started that world like 3ish days ago (technically 4 but i didnt played at one day)
Very strange, I have no idea how it could have gotten to that size in just 3 days worth of playing, never heard of that before. As for the backup stuff: I didn't even know that was a feature people actually use, I don't know anything about it, how it works and stuff.
yea I mean if it is a somewhat legit size then it could also be to me exploring a lot but even then its quite massive.. like even my other world files without it arent that big
For the backup i only really use it for regular "weekly" failsave backup and when i add new mods midsave..
Why not just copy paste the world folder instead of using the backup button?
its simpler to use lebutton >->
but yea probably gonna go with the copy paste thing from now on
any way anything i can do about that massive size or do i just have to life with it now if i wanna keep that world?
which i also wouldnt even mind if that means ill have to regenerate some exsisting "far away" chunks this mod makes because the current ones look ass any way even with my good gpu
if you don't have any custom setting try restarting the config
maybe the compresion is disabled in the config
you can also look for compresion settings in game, and increase it
bruh bot having a roblox like chat filter or what here got blocked??
any way i "h-it s-emmi r-andom b-uttons" in the o-ptions in-game and it s-eamed to have f-ixed the texture "i-s-s-u-e" in-game
