(unsolved) shadow issue when blocks are above void

(tldr of observations below) what is the setting to remove the full black shadows that appear on blocks only when the structure is above void?

don't think there is any Transparency or use only DH light engine might be closest but I doubt that will help Also shaders should help

This looks like the bug involving transparent blocks, try turning off transparency and see if that fixes it.

it didnt work unfortunately it fixes shadows if theyre above glass blocks but i cant make the glass blocks transparent as a workaround their lod is a solid color of the block, and the barrier blocks still wont affect it

Try letting minecraft handle the light instead or is that what you originally had?

it doesnt work with dh light engine only on false either

tldr below the weird thing is that if i paint with worldedit over it, it adapts to the shape (1st picture), if i replace the sandstone with stone it still the same (2nd picture), but if i replace it with stone, tuff, cobblestone, andesite (same materials i have below, its as in the 3rd picture. if i replace every block on the whole island with the same block (ex white wool, stone, dripstone block, dirt), the issue goes away, but if i replace it with 50% white wool and 50% red wool for example or it has the same dark spots as in the 3rd picture if i however make the trees red and island white it works fine my only idea it was that its cave culling so i deactivated, closed mc, deleted all sqlite files, restarted mc when i opened the world the lods actually worked until i unloaded them by getting closer to them then reloaded them by getting further causing them to go black again ive noticed it always works properly on vertical quality heightmap however yeah, looks pretty bad i also tried deleting my mods and config folder, making a new map without any mods (made the island manually), putting the distant horizons mod back then running the world again but still same issue tested all versions from 2.1.2 included to 1.6.5 included night vision fixes it but isnt a good workaround TLDR:--------------------------------------------------------------------------- any blocks that have shadows on them and other types of blocks next to them is pitch black (the general area is a mix of blocks and has the smallest amount of shadow) solid blocks for example are fine if they have shadows

any workaround? is there a lightweight shader that fixes this but looks almost the same as vanilla? or maybe some fog mod that makes a solid fog layer at a fixed y position so that i can add a solid layer of blocks for example (height fog inside dh doesnt seem to work how i want it)

simpley upscaled or make up ultra fast shaders
