No more correct print since update 2.1
hi ,
since i updated to ratos 2.1 i have a lot of stringing and can't print a complete piece as it finished to clog.
My printer :
Vcore 3.1 enclosed
LGX Large with reinforced metal gears
Mosquito magnum
cht bimetal
retraction tried 0.3 0.4 and 0.5 same issues
different filaments tested that where dryed
didn't have those issue before the update
configuration of the extruder :
[tmc2209 extruder]
uart_pin: e_uart_pin
run_current: 0.45
stealthchop_threshold: 0
interpolate: False
[extruder]
dir_pin: e_dir_pin # Remove ! in front of pin name to reverse the direction of extruder
rotation_distance: 8 # Bondtech LGX default
max_extrude_only_distance: 200
nozzle_diameter: 0.4
heater_pin: e_heater_pin
sensor_type: ATC Semitec 104GT-2
sensor_pin: e_sensor_pin
min_extrude_temp: 170
min_temp: 0
max_temp: 285
pressure_advance: 0.03
I'm lost... i kept all the config files from my previous installation 2.0.X so i did put everything as it was.
Also loading a filament make a weird noise, here is a video :

please post debug-zip
(you can download it from the sidebar in the configurator)
it would also help if you posted your old printer.cfg
hmmm, the debug zip keeps on loading but don't start any download.
here is my old printer.cfg
timeout on the debug-zip
That's not good.
You make me fear... Hahhaa
Nah looks like this one is my fault 😄
I'm a developper I can understand that don't worry
I have a fix, but unfortunately i'm afk for the next couple of hours, will ping you later when it's ready
take your time 🙂
update is ready
Any updates on that topic ?
yeah you selected the wrong motor in the configurator
Click this if the rail configuration isn't visible
You should delete your [extruder] and [tmc2209 extruder] overrides in printer.cfg
Looks like the majority of your printer.cfg is redundant and just prevents you from getting updated settings.
Ok ok I'll check that
i've done the configurator from scratch again, and i overwrote the whole printer.cfg so my change are not there anymore...
I did one thing : reverse the pin as it was unloading instead of loading ... but that's it
it has same behaviour so i removed the extruder section from printer config ( has been added by the configurator ) and retried, same behaviour seems like the speed of the first part of loading filament is too quick
Prolly just need to change the distances for the filament macros since you're using non-standard stuff https://github.com/HelgeKeck/RatOS/blob/documentation_v2.1/site/docs/configuration/macros.md#toolhead-configuration.
I'm however not really concerned about loading/unloading, i'm more concerned about the clogging you're mentioning.

Are you sure you're using the correct thermistor type etc?
Yes all my items comes from ratrig store except the beacon. What do you mean by non standard stuff ?
Yes all my items comes from ratrig store except the beacon.I meant configuration wise
What do you mean by non standard stuff ?The standard is Orbiter 2 + Rapido.
Yeah I heard a lot about that... And to be honest I'm close to buy but I wait the upgrade kit from 3.1 to 4.
Ok so I have to check the configuration of everything.
mostly just make sure you're using the right stepper and the right thermistor
there's no reason your current setup shouldn't work fine
When I checked the thermistor I based myself on my bill, is there another way?
Unless there's a tag on it with the model, no that's probably the best you're going to get
Ok
but it's not the exact same as in the facture
I think I found the problem... Firmware rétractation was not enabled in the printer.cfg
Are you using firmware retraction?
And why did you disable it if that was the case?
It's configured automatically
Ah yeah this is the wrong one, you want "Generic 3950"
This will report wrong temps
The error varies with temperature
Yes I use it, I didn't disabled it but since I added in the printer.cfg [firmware_retraction] I have no more clogs
firmware_retraction is already defined in RatOS.cfg, adding
[firmware_retraction]
to printer.cfg does nothing as it's already there. How I have no more clogging then hahaha
Weird
in RatOS.cfg under base setup you'll see section similar to these
Hmmm, 🧐 I believe you then it magically worked ? Hahaha weird af
🤷♂️
Let's just focus on the fact that it works now 😂
Hahaha yeah. I'll still change the thermistor
I mean the config to be safe
