Can someone tell me which versions of sodium, iris, indium and distant horizons i have to have for it to run 1.20.1. I tried multiple versions of each mod but it all showed different incompatibility error messages

all latest should work
whats the error?
maybe the error was that you needed to install the fabric api mod?
I tried all latest, it doesn't show any errors, but its not showing the distant horizons menu either. Sodium is working but Im not sure if distant horizons is working
and have you added the fabric api?
Yes, just nw
but no change
can you send logs?
/logsstored
You should send your
latest.log
file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are located in the .minecraft/logs
directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs
Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed.
After uploading the file, click on Save
and send the link.Okay, just a second
it's not showing the distant horizons menu? 🤣
Go into the configs folder and delete the distanthorizons.toml file
the settings button hid itself somehow
Okay, I'll try that as well
here's the log file btw
ah, you used the iris installer
should i not?
Yeah
because you probably watched a 4 month old tutorial
as you didnt check the iris+fabric box when installing, that makes it a bit more complicated
I thought that was a necessary step, my bad, lemme get rid of that
I did check that box
oh then idk
why its doing that
the easiest way if you want to use the normal minecraft launcher is to first install fabric manually
Ok, Lemme try
Btw, there is no distanthorizons.toml file in the config folder, idk where to look for the configs folder
yea, thats because DH was never loaded
dont worry about it for now
should i get rid of the other versions first?
probably doesnt matter
you can if you want it clean
but it shouldnt interfere
Okay

A potential solution has been determined, this may resolve your problem:
- Replace mod 'Sodium' (sodium) 0.5.11+mc1.20.1 with version 0.5.10.
More details:
- Mod 'Indium' (indium) 1.0.32+mc1.20.1 requires version 0.5.9 or version 0.5.10 of mod 'Sodium' (sodium), but only the wrong version is present: 0.5.11+mc1.20.1!

iris

Ah mb, my indium was 1.0.32
let me try again
now everything is working, but I dont think that's how far 256 render distance is supposed to render
Oh wait nevermind
It was just a bit slow to load
Thank you so much
I gave up twice when stuff didnt work out
np!
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)Install:
- Noisium
- Faster Random
- Lithium
To speed it up a bit
Btw, will distant horizons work with bobby? I heard it's pretty good to reduce the load on my CPU
bobby will only stress the cpu more
but it works fine with DH
bobby is not a performance mod
Ah thank you
Have a great day, you were very helpful
Thanks again
no problem!
