i used a tutorial on how to get distant horizons and i did everything but i it is still not working, i also need some advice.

Chunky is known to cause LODs to turn into swiss cheese and bloat up world size, as can be seen in the attached screenshot.
We recommend you enable "Distant Generation" in Distant Horizons' settings and wait.
If you actually want to pre-generate vanilla chunks along with LOD data, disable Distant Horizons, wait for chunky to finish, then re-enable Distant Horizons.

if you were to start over, you probably dont need to delete anything except the stuff in the mods folder

By the way, there is no harm in re-running the installer. It will not delete, it will simply create a new profile in the launcher, synchronizing everything.
