Issues with chunk loading

I'm pretty new to modding minecraft so I'm not really sure what info is needed. There seems to be a circle where no chunks load between real chunks and DH chunks as well as the fact chunks in general don't load a lot of the time. Mods: c2me, DH 2.1.2, indiym, iris, lithosphere, nosium, sodium and terralith (I do also have chunky installed but I haven't used it) Minecraft has 8 gb of ram allowed CPU is a core i5-9600KF
Solution:
To make the vanilla chunks load faster you can e.g.: - reduce the vanilla RD - install mod C2ME (it will hurt the LODs loading speed!)...

The chunks are loading slowly That's normal Especially if you haven't explored those chunks

You can try making the vanilla chunks load faster or tune the overdraw prevention Note that shaders override the DH setting, so look inside the shader settings

I already have C2ME installed so that could be slowing the load speeds. What is RD sorry? and Where might overdraw prevention be in shader settings? I'm using photon currently

RD == Render Distance

Ah right, haha. I've got it set to 12 currently

Depends on the shader, I don't have it memorized, most shaders don't allow for tuning :/ C2ME speeds up loading the vanilla chunks, but slows down loading of the DH LOD chunks So in this case you might want to keep it

Do you know of any DH compatable shaders that definitely have overdraw prevention settings? I'm struggling to find it in photon and I think it'd be a good idea to try and fiddle with that to see if it helps with my issues

Thanks. I have bliss installed. I'm fairly sure it's the newest version but when I use it it says DH isn't supported by this shader pack. Is there a specific version I need to get?

Yes the indev version Check xonk's github Scroll down for instructions (indev isn't on the releases tab)

Thank you! I'll give it a shot now Seems to be working a lot smoother now, thanks for the help. Does chunky work well with DH at all? Is it worth setting it to preload a bunch of chunks or is it better to just manually load the chunks by exploring?

Chunky is known to cause LODs to turn into swiss cheese and bloat up world size, as can be seen in the attached screenshot. We recommend you enable "Distant Generation" in Distant Horizons' settings and wait. If you actually want to pre-generate vanilla chunks along with LOD data, disable Distant Horizons, wait for chunky to finish, then re-enable Distant Horizons.

It can help, but usually it will make everything slower and the procedure is complicated Not worth it

Thanks for the advice! I'll stick to generating by exploring 🙂

If you are in singleplayer you can just stand still in place You need to explore only on servers

Oh okay. WOuld I need to turn the LOD distance up for that?

Make sure that distant generation in DH settings in enebaled (should be on by default) After that DH will generate LODs up to you DH RD So if you want to generate a bigger space you indeed can increase the DH RD for now I myself pre-gen with 1024 DH RD, and when I get bored of waiting I switch back to 512 and start playing after some time I may go back to 1024 after moving around a bit

Awesome! I assume that's the LOD distance render radius on the main settings menu?

To edit the config, press the button next to the FOV slider to edit the config. The config file found in .minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.toml

Thanks. I just upped the distance to 1024 and the skybox has done the source engine thing where it shows everything else as the skybox overlapping if that makes sense? nvm. Reloaded the world and it was okay. Thanks for the help!
