Left belt seize/jump/binds through motion

Hey guys ! While doing 45° movement along the left motor axis, the belt of one of my print get somehow stuck or bind, which result in jagged motion, whether it's moved by the stepper or by hand. This result in layer shift throughout the print. The printer is about 1 year old and motion was fine until layer shift began to happen a few weeks ago. I fully disassembled the motor assembly, cleaned the associated bearings, checked the stepper is fine, played with pulley height, and changed both belt. The was some unusual black powder in the motor/bearing assembly, which I assume was some belt-wearing dust. Linear rails are not biding at all, and movement along the right motor axis are fine.
I'm out of idea :pepehands: and looking for suggestions/things to try.
Thanks for reading ! :ratrig_heart:

Is there binding though when though when the gantry is under tension. While the belts are tensioned, if you move the gantry back and forth by hand does it feel even from front to back?

When the belt are tensioned, there is a noticeable biding problem from 1 belt, wether I move it by hand or via stepper power. It's not even and the left belt getting stuck "forces" the head onto a diagonal motion

good job narrowing it down, now to search along that specific belt's path to find the cause
