unload

Hi , I'm setting up a new printer and it's printing fine. The problem is when I use the unload filament button, the extruder extrudes instead. I'm using relative e steps. The load filament button works fine. Everything is updated and using v-core-3 configs.
Solution:
I'm assuming I do this while driving the motor. What would indicate that I need to replace the board? I feel like I've ruled out any of the other components being bad since I have tested new spares of each. The octopus board is most suspect because the amazon seller sent me the wrong one. I bought the H723 but they sent the 446. Plus it has the MCU negative temp problem. I shelved the project for a while so it's too late to return. Oh well.

Post your printer.cfg But also, there is some extrusion done for tip forming. Are you not able to pull out the filament once the macro is done?

do I just copy paste the text of config here? the filament is still loaded. the long retraction is moving forwards instead of backwards. I tested with relative_extrusion = True and it did the same thing.

Drop the file here Does the extruder run the correct way when you use the extrude button?

thanks for taking a look

it's extruding fine otherwise. did some test prints. The extrude button works. The retract button also extrudes. I tried relative_extrusion both true and false but it didn't make a difference. I tried reversing the dir_pin and it did nothing which leads me to think there's something wrong with the wiring or the board. This board may be bad because the mcu temp reads incorrectly and intermittently gives negative temperatures. Thanks guys. I think this may be a hardware or wiring issue. I'll follow up when I figure it out. I think the config settings are not the cause of this issue.

If both extrude and retract buttons move the motor the same way, I would agree that a wire is wrong. Check the "dir" pin of the motor

I just swapped the motor for another LDO pancake and also swapped the driver with a spare. No difference. motor goes only one direction. Wiring is attached to the motor so I think that's not it. I checked all versions of the octopus pro config files and they all have the same dir pin, PG3. Can you think of anything else to check before replacing the board?

Not offhand. If you could put a multimeter on the dir pin and check continuity between it and pwr, or between it and ground that could point the finger at the culprit. With and without the motor connected I'm not sure if there is a way to tell klipper to put that pin high or low for testing specifically

If without anything attached to the board, check the dir pin and if it never changes, then it's the board

with no motor but with driver or no? Can I send G1 command without driver installed? I tried with motor and there was no change. On the other drivers, the dir pin polarity switches so I guess this means board is defective.

there ya go, found something good to compare it to 🙂 Sorry for the dead board :/
