Tailoring pants, looking for color recommendations

I'll be going to a tailor to get my measurements for a pair of (probably linen) gurkha style pants, with double reverse pleats and side adjusters/gurkha straps. I'm currently doing this to try out their quality so I'll only be getting 1 pair, and I'm wondering what color I should get. I'm planning to wear my work shirts and polos with it, which are mostly white and black. As such, I was thinking of either a pair of grey or brown (like the attached picture) pants. Do you guys have any other recommendations? Thanks for the help!

Gray/Brown are fine. Navy is probably most flexible, khaki also okay. Will say, imo the point of the linen / Gurkha style is to have more flow/room. The pic there is quite slim through the leg. Just something to think about.

I think with linen I would do brown grey feels like a wool flannel color to me Also seconding the cut thing. Especially if you go pure linen. Most of these super slim pants have spandex in them. Linen is not flexible. Also because they will crinkle quickly they will ride up your calves over the course of the day with such a slim fit. I will also add that in my personal experience navy pants that are not jeans are not as versatile as one might think. They always tend to look a bit like jeans but wrong cries in navy wool trouser

I think if they don't have a sterotypically jeans fit. For instance these are easily my most worn pants the last few months

I prefer a slimmer cut, exactly like the one in the picture really. It gives a smarter and more polished/classic look I feel.

While your aesthetic feelings are completely valid I now get to uhh akshually you. Because slim fit dress trousers have been a trend of the early 2000s that is slowly falling out of style. Classical trouser cuts (as well as historical gurkha trouser cuts) have been wider than that. That being said, do what you want to do but keep the stretch argument in mind. most of these slim fit trousers have spandex in them

Slim can work but as Leo said the other elements don't go with it stylistically, or practically - linen pants that are actually tight are not comfortable and crinkle a ton (I was given too small ones to wear in the tropics as a kid 😛)

May be a bit of an aside but originally Gurkha pants were fun vacation wear...

Thanks for the tips lads; met the tailor and he recommended Irish linen which felt really comfortable and (he says) doesn't crinkle too easily. I decided to go for a similar style like the pic above as I just can't seem to get it out of my head; will let you guys know in a couple of weeks when it's done!
