If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive settings of CPU Load. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering and Show World Gen Queue to True.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)This is the best way to generate dh chunks

Chunky is known to cause LODs to turn into swiss cheese and bloat up world size, as can be seen in the attached screenshot.
We recommend you enable "Distant Generation" in Distant Horizons' settings and wait.
If you actually want to pre-generate vanilla chunks along with LOD data, disable Distant Horizons, wait for chunky to finish, then re-enable Distant Horizons.

u can downgrade anytime but the newest version (not nightly) is slightly better on the cpu

You can keep the real chunks if you want to but Would delte the lods if you have swiss cheese
Lithium ports on forge arnt offical so your luck may vary but I use Radium
and modernfix but I guess If you have noisium and such and everthing is working it is fast as it can be

It is an alpha?
It's not that buggy you can just ignore the message often
You can always contribute to the gitlab :)
But technically the mod isn't finished and it's not a performance mod
It's more of a make it pretty mod
You can disable distant generation that way you can only see chunks you explored but it's lighter on the cpu Alternativly put you render distance down like to 96 and look if that will help but for the thing your asking you probably need to ask mojang

Mods that can speed up DH (those are fabric mods, most performance mods are for fabric and fabric itself starts up faster so use it for best performance with DH)

Mods that make DH slower:
- Chunky

- worldgen mods
- structure mods
There are more on both sides, but these are the most inportant
Best way to speed up DH is to get better CPU
