pre-generation took 5+ hours to gen Lods with 13600k
I enabled distant generation, created a new world and AFK about 5 hours ago, and now it's still generating the lods.
- CPU load is set to "I paid for the whole CPU".
- Render distance radius is 512.
- The number I marked in the pic initially is about 130,000. I'm not sure of the exact meaning of that, I just view it as an indication of how much work is still left to do.
- Mods I installed: lithium, sodium, indium, dh-2.1.2, iris.
- Currently the size of the Lods files is about 5GB.
My questions are:
- Does it really need that much of time to load and render? Is there room for optimization?
- Is there any way to enhance the performance by using some other Mods?

To answer your questions:
- Yes, it does take a long time. In fact, on average, 512 should take about 8 hours to finish on modern system.
- Best way to improve the performance is to manually tune DH threading settings. The CPU Load preset "I Paid for The Whole CPU" is not suitable for desktop CPUs, rather more tailored towards HEDT CPUs like Xeons, Threadripper or even Epyc.
Mods such as:
- Noisium
- Faster Random
help a bit, but they won't shave more then a 30 min from the total time
