Octopus v1.1 not sending signal to heated bed *fresh RatOS instal*

Fresh install for ratos 2.0 everything works like normal but the heated bed is not activating. I powered the SSD with a PSU and it heats as it should and I tried a brand new octopus mcu with no luck. I think I've narrowed the issue down to the octopus with a multimeter, I know you have to ask it and yes the bed is wired correctly lol it worked without issue before fresh ratos instal. I believe it's just not sending a signal to the ssd from the bed out. I didn't change the pin-out for the heated bed in the printer.cfg, at least not that I am aware of. Is there anywhere else that I could have been changed something by mistake possibly? Thanks for any help you can offer.

A few questions…. Why RatOS 2.0 vs 2.1? Are you using the standard bed in for power and bed out to the SSR? After install did you then check for updates and patch everything?

I plan on waiting for 2.1 to get the kinks worked out of it before I make the jump. I have the PSU wired to the bed in and bed out wired to the DC side of the SSR. I did updated everything after install.

What version of the Octopus 1.1 do you have? There are two different versions if I remember correctly. The one with the F446 chip and one with the F407 chip. I suspect you would have not gotten as far as you have with picking the wrong chip but maybe they are close enough the firmware runs but has issues with the heater port being on a different pin

Both the boards that I have have are 446 chips, I'll have to double check to make sure I used the correct config. I didnt think of that.

I think the btt-octopus-11 board you selected is the right one for the 446 board. if you put a volt meter set to measure 24v DC and tell the bed to heat up do you get any voltage out on the bed out pins of the octopus? I know you said it was working pre-upgrade but I would check to see if you are seeing anything or not. If not check the bed input to see if you are seeing voltage. If you are seeing power on input but not output while it should be calling for heat, check that you dont have a blown fuse. I think the fuse right behind the bed in is the fuse for it

I do have power 24v dc going into the board but nothing coming out. Do you know what amp the fuses are by chance? My wife works at an industrial supply store and I can have her grab some spares. One of the fuses did fail a continuity test on my multimeter. The one closest to the black screw terminals. I replaced it with the unused fuses from my second board. I still am not seeing voltage from the bed out.

I only have octopus pros here on my vc3 and vc4 but I think they are the same. Mine is a 15 amp fuse but I suspect you would even be fine with as small as a 1 amp fuse. The ssr does not need much power. The bed port is meant for a dc heated bed like the v-minion uses. My fuse is 10.92mm wide so I think it’s considered a mini blade fuse.

I used my ohm meter across the fuse and it tests with continuity so if yours is not I suspect it blew somehow. Hopefully that is helpful.

Make sure you do that with the power off to the mcu

I'll give this a try thank you! I got my hands on some nice 3m fuses and everything works as it should. I spent far too much time looking over my wiring and checking other components ><

awesome, glad it was something simple. Building a printer is not a time consuming thing to do. I have spent a ton of time the last ~3 weeks working on my VC4 500 build. It feels like 3 steps forward and then 4 back and then 4 forward to 3 back. Learning a lot so I guess thats good? Happy 4th of July if you are in the US.
