Certain block faces do not render
On random blocks some faces do not render, reloading doesn't help.

known issue, may or may not be fixed in the future
happens when DH is changing from one detail level to the next
any temporary fixes?

Solution
Try increasing horizontal quality
a.k.a. Dropoff distance
