massive problems with LOD chunks loading
they keep doing this sort of thing, super patchy monoliths in the distance. fully loaded sections don't even stay loaded all the time, they'll just dissapear

Try deleting the .sqlite file in your mc world folder
/lodstore
Single Player:
- Overworld:
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/
just this one?
yea
then load the world up
well those monolith looking things are gone, but LOD chunks still just unload for whatever reason
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)Try the second part
hmm alright that's done
i'm seeing blue and red boxes yes
good that means that lods are being generated
and the occasional magenta that floats up
just sit and wait with your cpu usage on either balanced or aggressive if you have a good cpu
alright
give it 10 minutes and if lods are generating then add the solved tag if not then ping me
on an unrelated note
do you know how youtube channels who make videos on this stuff generate such huge swaths of LOD chunks?
do they just wait for a long time as well
aside from certain "stubborn zones" seems to be working fine- good enough, resolved
They increase DH render distance
they turn up FOV a bit
and they wait with they PC on overnight
And they have a RX 7900X3D or I9 14900KS
with a RTX 4090 and 128 GB of RAM
