30 fps cap in VR
Shouldn't I be getting fps in the 300+ range when comparing to other systems like this.

I found a work around to the 30fps cap. Using the steam app called Lossless scaling, with these settings the game fps was raised to 40-50 with shaders and feels much smoother in vr now.

does the fps increase if you turn off distant generation and wait 2 minutes?
Depends on what mods you have
It goes up to 150-200 average without DH and shaders. also long lag spikes started to happen when DH was disabled. it seems to be doing stuff in the background and showing errors after each lag spike.
Mod pack im using is this. and im testing the fps with vr/physics mod turned off btw.
I added a bunch of mods that add more to the world generation like custom structures.
Lag spikes show this in the modrinth live logs: [02:37:31] [Server thread/WARN]:
Can't keep up! Is the server overloaded? Running 16342ms or 326 ticks behind
Your CPU can’t keep up
Reduce DH CPU load to minimum
How much ram have you allocated to MC?
And how much do you have in your PC
32gb Allocated out of 64 total ram

Another thing I noticed, at some point after joining a world, maybe after like 1-2m. the fps uncapps from 30 and starts going above 100 with VR fps at around 41. So odd
Do you have custom GC flags?
If not it is advised you don't go over 16 GB on allocated RAM, going over that will result in big stutter
I do have that as a mod ingame mentioned I should add that to my arguments
ThatIs what exacly? There are houndreds of GC flags
You have it as a mod?
Wharr

How did you get it to work in VR? afaik this only affects the mirror window not the actual headset
It somehow still feels better in VR with lossless scaling. I can’t explain it. And putting in any more energy debugging poorly coded mods is not worth the time and effort. Making modpacks I have become so tired of mods and their problems. Nothing ever properly works.
true, too many moving parts and they're all written in 50 different dialects of greek

Nvidium doesn’t stop shaders
Nvidium stops itself when shaders activate
