best settings
Curious about what settings I should use for my setup
Ryzen 7 7 7700
32gb ram
Rtx 4060ti
How much ram should I allocate and how many chunks could I load
What settings in dh are good for my specs

For you cpu load I would use 12 threads to generate chunks with 358 lods for your gpu I would go with high quality of lods and if you lag too much then go with medium if those settings are very smooth try increasing the gpu and cpu and if they are too much go with lower threads and generate less chunks
These settings are my personal opinion of what I think may work for your pc so don't take them as expert advice!
Dh can run on any pc
Even on a
RASPBERRY PI
Raspberry pi mentioned omg
Hey guys, did you know that in terms of distant horizons performance, A raspberry Pi is the most compatible device for distant horizons? Not only is it in batocera.linux, which is mostly known for great optimization, Raspberry PI 4s are an average of 3.74 x 2.76 x 0.98 inches and 2.29 ounces, this means they’re large enough to be able handle hot temps, and with its impressive customizability for cooling and access to extra ports, you can modify one. Due to minecraft's mostly low overhead system requirements , there’s no doubt in my mind that an overclocked Raspberry PI 5 would be incredibly powerful, so powerful that you could easily use 128 chunks with one for hours without stuttering.
12-24 gbs should work, but with that amount of ram the jvm will struggle the more you put into it
I suggest getting jdk 21
Any version
And making Minecraft use that
Then making your jvm flag have generational zgc
Go search it up i don't really know how it works
Basically zgc just makes ram alloc faster and less stuttery
12 gb should be enough for dh tho
But you could allocate more
Just that you need to do the generational zgc step
Alternatively you could use Shenandoah gc
Which is like, better than the default but worse than generational (depends on hardware?)
Just set your cpu load setting to balanced or aggressive
Aggressive if you could deal with a couple of fps drops here and there
128 is usually a good starting point for lods
Medium-high quality too
If you're going 1440p go medium, 1080p go high
Or 1440p high vert quality if you wanna torture your gpu
Depending on the gpu the vertical quality might actually not have that much of an impact
How is this of any help to the question?
you are just talking about raspberry pi all the time
you aren't giving the op any info about what settings may be best for them
I did 2048 chunks with I paid for the whole cpu and 16g allocated and it worked without lagging
Did do this however
what?
Listen to the sound
I can't hear any sound
Either:
- you've already gone deaf from that video
- Your headphones/speakers are broken
- you shoud see a doctor
Nvm I think I muted discord lmao I am an idiot!
Oh yeah, there is this option too
