mcu 'toolboard': Unable to connect
I have a v core 3.1 500, with a btt octopus pro mainboard with tmc5160 drivers for x and y motors running on 48V. Been using this printer for 18 months without a toolhead board (originally had a ebb42 board but it failed and went back to wiring direct to octopus board)
Never used ratos before, but i like the look of the new features so bought a new ebb42 board and have fully installed and updated ratos 2.0, modifed printer.cfg but at the end of the process get the klipper error :
mcu 'toolboard': Unable to connect
i used ssh to have a look at the install and canboot directory not there. Does ratos use this? Or is my install incomplete?
Can anyone help?

ratOS only uses USB to communicate with toolboards. Are you using USB? Also, did you flash the toolboard with klipper? If not, you'll have to go back to the printer configuration tool and flash the toolboard. You should have to add /configure?step=2 (or maybe it is step 3, can't remember) to the end of the URL you use to access your printer, and that will get you into the configuration tool.
Alternatively, you can update to RatOS 2.1 RC (not the full release yet, but it is fully functional) and just reset up the printer entirely using the very, very much improved RatOS 2.1
used usb between pi and toolboard for firmware install, but now connected via canbus
You'll have to use USB to run it as well. Otherwise you will need to setup/modify everything you need manually to use canbus. RatOS only supports USB out of the box
I would never have thought of that, i assumed it would run via the canbus bridge. Thank you
