No distant generation
I cant get my lods to generate super far so it still looks weird when on mountains. The lods generate what seems to be around 64 chunks
Mod list: still wont work with even just dh

lods stop around here no matter what render distance/cpu load i use

If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)Try the second part
And try to increase the quality preset
quality moved up to high, wireframe rendering on and world gen queue is on
no visual change
actually there seems to be a visual change but it still doesnt seem to be going as far as it should be
better picture, is this 256 render distance? should i just turn up render distance?

The bright blue boxes on the edge are chunks queued for generation
yeah it seems like its not enough boxes/chunks rendered. for example if im sitting on a mountain i can clearly see where the rendering stops whereas in a lot of videos it is almost seamless unless you fly high enough to see the world borders.
Either wait for the lods to fully generate and load, or increase the fog setting to make it fully foggy faster
ok i think i was just not waiting long enough
