Sometimes, the closest LODs disappear and vanish before they come into vanilla RD. Any fix?
Believe its due to Vanilla RD not rendering fully but idk

Decrease overdraw prevention
Dh settings, advanced settings, graphics, advanced graphics
Iirc
its on 0.4
what value should I set it to?
go as low till it works
this tree would vanish more and more as i get closer
alr so
it only happened in 1 direction usually
i set to 0.1
seems to fix
kinda
leaves still do smt similar
they just go higher in quality
The DH setting only works with no shaders
if you use shaders change overdraw prevention in shader setting instead
ok
if your shader does not allow for it to be changed either:
- make vanilla terrain load faster (decrease vanilla RD or install C2ME or something)
- change shader
Fake blocks, trees and stuff fade out
as i approach
meh
i think it just LOD errors and Vanilla autism
yes, it is caused by a combination of overdraw prevention and slow vanilla chunk loading
its not like the image above
they fade away slowly
like you stay in place, and they just fade away in time?
i walk to them
and they fade away slowly
if i get close enough yes
i stand still
and they continue fading
also
ive walked some distance
LODs stopped generating
If you have shaders on it can still be overdraw prevention, contact shader dev, if the overdraw prevention settings are not in shader settings
alr
so can i do anything to make chunks load?
or will they just stop
i have 128 distance
bruh
whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy cant i have 1 normal stable experience with this mod
I dont see the problem?
Is it not far enough?
look
closely
chunks arent generating
Bruh
How am I supposed to tell that it aint generating from a still image
But uhhhh
Check the F3 menu if its still busy generating
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)Could also be the shaders, some dont have like completely opaque fog even at the edge of the LODs so you'll always see the border slightly
i swear i never used to see the border with photon
whoops wrong version
im braindead
problem solved
Lol
reloaded world and chunks start generating
hopefully this is fixed
in future
cuz i changed shaders, turned em off and nah
The ol' turning it off and on again
yup
So this can be marked as solved now?
ye
Sweet, have fun playing!
pls relay that they needa fix chunks stopping loading
thanks
might be shader issue
but i turned shaders off and it didnt rly do anything
