100% cpu usage
DH was turned OFF and it still used 100% of my cpu all the time. i checked multiple times, and restarted the game/pc multiple times idk why it did that. yesterday i didnt had that problem and the only thing i changed was putting in a new shader. fixed after i removed DH from the mods. these are the mods i used

DH still runs in the background if all you did was disable rendering
Turn the cpu impact to minimal
There is no way to disable DH in game entirely, you can get close by:
- Disabling rendering (you did only this)
- Disabling distant generation
- Changing CPU Impact to minimum (as TheNewSky said)
If you want to disable it further you can go to advanced and threading and change things there to further recude DH CPU usage
I find my game to stutter and CPU usage to be high with Distant Generation enabled no matter how low the CPU setting is. This is on a 12-core R9 3900x. What I'd recommend is to run it on Aggressive CPU load with it enabled for a while to load chunks, then turn DG off and lower the CPU load setting.
Changing CPU load in not imidiate, setting it lower does not reduce the CPU usage and by extension the stuttering for up to 2 min
