DH Render the same distance
So I´m testing the limits of DH 2.1 and I notice that at some point the game no longer loads more fake chunks. With the 2.0 version I was able to load at the distance I wanted at the expense of performance loss. With this new version I have more performance but I cannot generate more.
Important info:
-Screenshots where taken form the exact same spot
- Screenshots with fog have a 300 chunk render distance, without fog is set to 700, notice how it has loaded the same.
- This is a custom world I made myself and previously generated 100% of the map with DH 2.0, then migrated all and after that I compressed the database with db browser as indicated in this server.
- I doubt it is a PC limitation, my PC has 32gb of RAM, an i5 13600K and a 4070 Ti Super.
-I know 300 and 700 render distance is a lot, I went to high numbers just to prove that it really generated the same distance.
-Everything was rendered with the "agresive" preset

Probably just generating LODs still. Can you send a screenshot of your f3 overlay
I dont know how to make the f3 menu smaller, it goes out of the screen
Decrease hud scale
Finally... A small hud
Try rejoining the world ig
File thread pool tasks should be above 0 if it's doing stuff
"ig" means in game?
Not a native speaker, srry
"I guess"
Oh ok, already tried that a few times, leaving to the menu and restarting minecraft, I even tried to move to another part of the world (where i knew 100% what was generated and what not) and did the same experiment obtaining the same result
try to increase the quality preset, but I doubt that will help
Also do you have distang generation enebled in DH settings?
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)You can try the second part
I dont know why but increasing the Quality preset from High to Extreme and the CPU load from Aggressive to I paid for the whole CPU has worked. After loading I decrease the CPU load to minimal impact and it stays in 60 fps. Now the game looks amazing, thank you all for the help.
