Chunks not loading
I keep having this issue where the chunks in-between won't load but the further ones "do"

If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive settings of CPU Load. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering and Show World Gen Queue to True.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)if not, try the second part of the second paragraph to see if they are at least being queued
one thing to note is that he is playing with me on the same world using the essential mod, i am not having these problems but he is

im the one hosting
we also had him host to see if was a me thing turns out its just him
and this does occur even without additional mods installed
im using amd hes using nvidia idk if theres a major difference there with the mod working for certain gpus and cpus
yea when joining an essential world things can be a bit buggy
amd or nvidia doesnt matter

idk why it also didnt work for him when you joined him. thats a bit odd

when he moves forward chunks will load on his screen, then certain chunks only will disappear as he moves away
What is his cpu load set at?
We tried aggressive at most and still didnt make a difference

You dont think it could be a cpu problen right? I mean hes using the best possible cpu for what his mb supports, a i7 4790k
yes, it very well could be. the 4790k is not a new cpu anymore
So thats probably the issue

mines far worse and handles horizons fine
idk its weird, we tried switching up the hosting and he still was the only one having issues

Ig my CPU is 5th gen but it's a U series so all I have is later support for apis n stuff which might be needed to run DH properly
What about his performance in other games are they below normal or smth?
Do you have access to the list of mods he is using
I can also provide JVM arguements that can help
Gotta use GraalVM java 21 tho
He runs pretty good on other games, with shaders on mc hes getting 120+ fps with a 1080p monitor, and 80-90 on XDefiant. I do have access to all of the mods but it isnt a mod issue we believe because we pulled everything out of his folders so that he only had distant left.
It's just a time issue just gotta wait for LoDs to be created ig
To speed it up you can change the compression to LZ4 in DH settings
We were playing on a world for over 2 hours and his chunks were still disappearing then showing near him

Nah brand new world with 2.1.0
And updated complimentary shaders
I've had smth like this happen B4 but it fixed when I deleted the DH LoD world data
And refreshed it

We did also delete his settings file
Try a server or singleplayer
Essential is odd idk cause it's a singleplayer world and if he is the hostdistant generation should work but if he isn't then might have to fly around n stuff
Even I can run shaders n DH at 64 chunks and play better than switch players FPS on smth 100x worse
So i don't think it's hardware

Yea his build was one of the best years ago when gtx series cards released
And the GPU is literally 2141% better
So idk how U getting issues on this

If U can try DH on sodium and fabric?
Use the simply optimized modpack or adrenaline modpack in addition with dh
If it doesn't work then all I can say is to check for driver updates but idk if they even support some of those components rn

DH is all about the view
and increasing the RD does not decrease the performance by much
that is the main point of this mod
for 32 RD you may would achieve better performance and quality with NVIDIUM and bobby
going below 128 is only recommended for really low end hardware, e.g. i3 from 12 years ago, or rasbeby pi

older and worse than 3rd gen
even sometimes on par with an i7 2nd gen bruh
DH is not a performance mod, DH is a visual improvment mod
if NVIDIUM does not work, it can allow for 32 RD, but it is not designed to do so
