This keeps happening after I start traveling into new chunks??
I have an rtx 3060 and an intel i5-9400f. I'm on 1.20.4 and I'm using Fabric. At the time the screenshot was taken, my LODs were set to extreme, and my CPU load was set to balanced. I also had it set to render 128 chunks.

I should have also mentioned I am using Willaim wyther's expanded ecosphere and Biomes O' plenty
here's another photo of it
to better explain what's happening here, I travel for a bit, it keeps some of the LODs rendered, but un-renders the ones in between, and I can also see loaded chunks off in the distance, with no connecting chunks in between.

If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)Its calculating the new lod level, that will take time
oh hi hardester
okay so this is just something I have to live with huh
tragedy
Yep
You can try increasing quality preset, is you are not on high already
if its indeed the issue that it is simply recalculating LOD's, a higher lod quality would not fix the issue
But the area of 1 Lod quality step would be bigger
that is true, but i dont think that will be noticable
this mod really just be not running huh
