Surprised to not find a discussion on the Vans brand so I thought I’d start one. They’re one of my favourites for casual streetwear/vintage-inspired clothing

Very common here in the UK. I like something more chunky myself
the more shoes i work my way through, the more i appreciate my vans. gutted that they shut down vault, OTW doesn't do much for me

i’ve been eyeing a bunch of their shoes besides the basics
namely they have these green cord lows that i crave for the texture
I think vans are great for shoes but in general I think it’s best to avoid clothing made by shoe companies and vice versa

I usually agree but I really enjoy the clothing that I’ve gotten from Vans. I got a really nice faded green and blue jumper which I wore most of the winter

Off the Wrack. It's a special line of sneakers they did after one of their shipments fell of a boat and was later found washed up with the seaweed
I dont really understand the brand, aside from the skater aesthetic.
Their shoes arent particularly comfortable.

My Vans arrived today. Quickly tried them on and they were very pretty comfy out of the box. I might wear them to work tomorrow. I'll try to post in #waywt

i need to find a solution to the one foot that wants to rub skin off when i’m wearing it and i can’t tell if i need thicker socks than the (mild) boot socks i was wearing or one of those stupid adhesive cushions
Had a pair of checkerboard slipons that I absolutely destroyed by wearing everywhere, kinda considering picking up another pair because they're so cheap
Those adhesive pads are actually really good
I don’t know if I love or hate this shoe style
But they look like they would be comfy walking shoes
They even have some with gore-tex, insulation, and traction treads
I have not been able to decide if I am ready to try them out over the Vans I have been wearing for years. That comfort though …..
I like the idea of the thermal insulated ones, they could be awesome for winter
i should see if my local skate shop has any i can try on
cause i’ve been thinking about those too
I can see myself getting one of the regular MTE for walking around the city (maybe a better option than my previous Adidas plan), and the thermal ones for winter

i’m gonna be that guy and say if you have the room in your wallet and your shoe rack that you should do a basic black and one of the greens you like most
Sadly the top right is maybe my favourite but it’s sold out in my size

Idk why but I really dig Vans Apparel. For me it’s the right medium of casual and classic so it’s usually perfect for my work attire so I don’t look/feel like a boring office drone (or only wear :uniqlo: )
they have some bangers in there ngl
i keep deliberating over getting a pair of the checkerboard slip-ons
bc on one hand they’re a quintessential vans look
but on the other i tend to be a laces-or-nothing person
but then, it might be nice to have for the few days i’m wearing sweats
I got the knu-slip when they first released. I had cheap martial arts slip-ons when I was a kid so these were very different. I’m glad that I have them but I don’t think I’ll ever buy slip-on low cut shoes again
The fit and the heel just doesn’t work for me

yeah. that’s something i worry about a lot, is grip
i have a high arch so i guess with how that impacts my gait, it means a lot of low slips just come right back off

I’m honestly surprised how much I’m wearing my Corduroy Vans. They’re basically just an Old Skool variant with a corduroy outer layer
They’re my favourite sneaker atm
And they’re far more interesting than my all black Vejas
Just need to modify my work attire a bit so I can wear my Vans more than just on Fridays

my beloved crocketts have a cord section on the outer and they fuck so hard

I love my :uniqlo: cord pants, especially with my cord vans
i do mean multiple cord in several places (ie, jacket + pants, shoes + hat + jacket) but i don’t know if i have the unfiltered swag to pull off full cord
I often wore double black denim for years so I think I could do similar with cord
And I often go for monochrome fits

I’ve realised that I really enjoy walking in the rain but never had proper rain gear
The black&white are classic but I oddly enjoy the yellow
But they’d be painful to style
I already have a navy Uniqlo rain jacket and plan to get ACG waterproof shorts (I also have Uniqlo geared pants which are water resistant)

I remember I had tried some vans some years ago but they were too small
i think i had had a similar experience
now here i am, actively wearing them and a big fan
My shoe collection mainly consists of Converse atm, but I would like to add some vans 1 day
so the new old skool lows are probably the first pair of lows i’ve considered in like a year and a half
