What's your lod render distance and normal chunk render distance
LOD is 128
Normal is 32
Did you try increasing cpu load to aggressive
Oh
Did you do the c2me config with dh thingy
The one where you add FALSE to two lines?
Yes
Yes I have
I do get that red EXCEPTIONS error when changin LOD render distance and then get that repeating visual glitch in the sky
Oh
Delete dh config
exit the game first
Then enable dh rendering and change the settings first
Then enable bliss shader lod shadowmap setting
(what I'm assuming your shader is)
thanks, gonna try it
which settings do i change?
Even cpu load to aggressive is more than enough
"i paid for the whole cpu" is unstable i think
no change
how far is the LOD supposed to go?
i can see LOD's, its working
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)wow
very cool!
I'll analyze to see how fast the rendering moves
I see, its happening!
nice!
I'm assuming it does take a while to load really far away?
I got it on aggressive
yes, although this depends on your cpu
Cool! Any way to speed it up? other than bbuying a new CPU lol
running i9 11900k rn
that cpu should do just fine, you can try installing noisium, although realisticly it wont do much
That cpu is more than enough, 128 lod distance on my i5 4210u takes a long time
You can also try changing the data compression setting on advanced settings
But world files will be bigger
Noisium and Faster Random
faster random always crashes my game
You need java 17
I have it
u need java 21 for 1.20.5 and up
for 1.16 to 1.20.4 u need java 17
for lower u need java 8
On fabric you can use java 21 for 1.16-1.20.4
And on 1.7.10 the gtnh modpack allows you to use java 17
Java is backwards compatible. Just get java 21 and you'll be good
I think Minecraft makes it so you can't use newer Minecraft versions on specific versions
If I'm not mistaken
I think it just downloads a new java installation
Idk tho
If you use a launcher like prism
Wouldn't it break tho?
Some mods dont like it but its usually fine
It will either crash or just work fine
