VC3.1 400 Enclosed - Ringing only on X after Input Shaper?
Printer:
New build 3.1 400 Enclosed
Toolhead Beta v2 - Vertical Toolboard
All parts from Ratrig
I'm still getting what I would consider significant ringing after running Input Shaper on my 3.1 (no panels on yet while diagnosing issues). On Y there is no ringing. I'm willing to try anything at this point for a solution. I have done a partial dissassembly (removing A/B motor mounts, pulling off Y linear rails) and reassembly, swapped A/B belts with eachother.
While I had the belts off, I did move the tool head around by hand nothing felt as if it was binding.
Yes, by X I mean the faces of any print that run from FWD to AFT on the machine - effectively the left and right faces of the print.

This looks like VFA not ringing to me but just to be sure did you edit your printer.cfg to add your input shaper settings?
Here's a helpful link to explain VFA's
https://ellis3dp.com/Print-Tuning-Guide/articles/troubleshooting/vfas.html
Also your x graph shows a very large region of resonance
While I agree on the VFA, it is hardly noticable in person on the Y axis. I'll take a look into rebuilding the X carriage to see if I can figure out what's going on with the wide range.
Thanks for the help!
2504's. Seems like this is a motor choice problem?
I'm not entirely sure what that test is showing, everything on this printer is from Ratrig.
I ended up replacing my x axis linear rail - as well as a complete tear down (the only thing that wasn't disassembled was the electronics panel).
I think these graphs are looking good, I'm disappointed that an "official" ratrig linear rail was the cause.
Print tests to validate the findings will come tomorrow.
New prints are silky smooth, I'm utterly happy.
