Why does the fit look different from the picture?
The pants that the model is wearing look smooth and straight with no wrinkles, but when I wear them, it looks... different—the pants look wrinkly and doesn't hang as cleanly as the model. Does a simple iron fix this problem? I'm new to fashion so I have no idea how to evaluate the fit . It is the exact same piece as the what the model is wearing with the same fit and everything.

there's a few factors to consider:
- where you're wearing the pants on your body vs the model
- your frame vs the model's frame (this is not a dig and should not deter you from wearing these)
- mostly the fact that the model is in-studio, with a team of people who can steam or adjust the pants as needed so they look as good as possible
ironing would help to preserve the vertical crease but imo it might be worth going up a size to get a more pronounced drape
Regarding your first point, how does the location of the pants on my body affect the fit?
if the size and rise are equal but the model is wearing them lower towards his hips or you're wearing them higher towards/above your natural waist it'll affect how the fabric hangs
this isn't the best set of pics to determine that but honestly i think it's a case of photoshoot magic for him plus perhaps going up a size to get the desired effect
Maybe your legs are not straight and the pants are a little bit too tight. My legs have this problem too, if the pants are too tight, the pants would have wrinkles like this. The solution is wearing looser fit pants
The cut is too slim mainly. This is the main benefit of wider fits is you can have trousers actually hang from your hips/waist. Slim cuts to your body will never be able to achieve this effect except in staged photos.
