Are my GPU and CPU equipped to handle distant horizons at medium settings?
I plan on getting a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 ti graphics card paired with an intel core i9 13900k what settings for distant horizons would you guys recommend? Also which is better? Fabric or Forge?

Use Fabric
Its more modern and has better optimisation mods
are you just gonna game with the cpu?
do you want recommendations from AMD gpu's as well?
Vorp?
?
What does this have to do with the question?
Or are you just offering to suggest AMD GPUs?
not much, but a 13900k paired with a 4060 ti is a really weird combination, just looking if they realize that
Ohh yeah true
For like future upgrades yes, right now the cpu and gpu is what I can afford for now
I didn’t know that
Yeah that CPU is pretty overkill
Id get a lower end one and a better GPU
that
Ok thanks!
if you want to i can also suggest a cpu / gpu if you give a budget
What cpu would you recommend that’s intel? I can’t really change it to amd cause then I’d have to change the mother board I have
I have a $1,900 ish budget
for just the cpu and gpu?
you can get a 13900k + 4080 super or 7900xtx for that money
I meant like the whole pc in total
Mb I should have specified
what components do you plan to keep? just the motherboard?
I already have a motherboard
If the cpu is over kill I can down grade it and go for a 4070
you did not answer the question
are you using a translator?
My PC I recently built is way under $1900 with even better parts. I reaaaally did my research on each part before I built it. This will be the best combination within your budget, hands-down. Here's the list of parts I bought: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/CAShep/saved/#view=9bCmLk

No I just didn’t understand the question mb
You can put some of the extra money on a better CPU but it won't make much of a difference, DH is really CPU intensive and no matter what CPU you have it will be slow
you went the other way lol, too cheap cpu with a too expensive gpu
although this combination will work if youre using a 4k monitor
the ssd is a bit overpriced because its samsung
and there are better cpu coolers for the money like the phantom spirit
but yea, apart from the cpu/gpu mismatch it is not a bad build
Like I said, I did my research. This is the best CPU you're going to get for this budget, the more expensive ones aren't worth the money. The GPU is the best you're going to get for the price, it's very underrated and the performance difference between the 4070 ti and the 4080 are negligable.
i disagree but sure
I’ll just show you the parts I plan on getting
I wouldn't recommend getting a cheaper GPU than this especially if you're going to use shaders. RT shaders run pretty good on the 4070 but on any lower GPU it's not going to run as smoothly
not everyone wants RT
sure!
The reason I chose the i9 is because I also heard it’s good for content creation and over clocking
you really dont want overclocking on the 13900k
it will kill inself in a few months/years and suck a lot of power
while it is one of the fastest for content creation, if youre going with a lower end cpu you probably wont notice a difference
what cpu do you have now?
I don’t have one yet
This is my first build
Ever
you have the motherboard but not the cpu?
Let me check the box real quick since I don’t remember it off the top of my head
Intel core i3 i3-9100f
about the power supply, how much is it and how much is the MSI MAG A850GL where you live?
the motherboard is a Intel core i3 i3-9100f?
can you be clearer?
No the cpu is
but you didnt have a cpu you said...
im not following, sorry
My bad I wasn’t clear enough
I was referring to the i9
My apologies
lets start over. what components do you have now?
are there any parts that you want to transfer to the new build?
Asus prime h610m-e d4 motherboard with the intel core i3
you cant use that motherboard with the 13900k
it uses a different socket
It does?
Crap
so youll need to buy a new mb
Damn
Ahh ok
Either new motherboard or new CPU
so no parts that you want to transfer to the new build? it will be a clean slate?
both
he's not gonna buy a 9900k
No absolutely not, nor should he
Sounds out of my price range
its way worse than the 13900k
it might be outside of your price range because its very old now and there are not a lot you can find
the reason i said you are not gonna buy a 9900k is because that is the best cpu your motherboard can handle
but its not good
thats why you need a new motherboard
I might be able to get a new mother board
I’ll see if I can bend the budget a bit
for 1900 dollars you absolutely can
do you care about ray tracing toji?
Yes
I do
The most I can spend on a new motherboard would be around $200

i went with this case because that is what you also chose
you probably wont need more fans
i think it comes with 3 of them
I just went with the fans because I wanted a black case with white fans
ah alright
Hey if you really want to go balls out, get the world's fastest gaming CPU: AMD's Ryzen 7 7800X3D
then you can add those
yep that is a good product
i have it as well
That sounds crazy strong
Save some money on the ssd, get the 970 instead of the 990
or the SN850X
because the samsung tax is real
I don’t think I’ll be changing the Corsair fans or aio
I’ll definitely change the cpu and graphics card
And get a new motherboard
what do you think about this parts list?
I like the mb, cpu and the ssd and the gpu might be doable
Also I think I have the ssd in my cart
you really dont need an aio for the 7700 but if you like the astetic you can go for it
Would the Western Digital WD_BLACK 2TB SN770 NVMe Internal Gaming SSD Solid State Drive - Gen4 PCIe, M.2 2280, Up to 5,150 MB/s - WDS200T3X0E bet a better alternative for the ssd?
There both similar I think
it is a worse drive, but if you can get it for a lot cheaper it might be worth it

I’ll stick to the one in your list, it’s also 10 bucks cheaper
Ok yea I’ve figured something out
It only breaks the budget by 150 ish which isn’t too bad
What does your parts list look like now?
All the same except the cpu, gpu, ram, and mb
I picked your mother board
CPU gpu and ram are AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 ($549 + free shipping), and B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI motherboard
So you picked the rm850x over the pure power 12m?
Sounds good!
Oh and CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36 Intel XMP iCUE Compatible Computer Memory - Black (CMH32GX5M2E6000C36)
No I kept the Corsair power supply
You don't want that ram
It's cl36
Oh ok
What’s that mean
Alright, it's your money lol
But it's not like the rm850x is bad
latency
Ohh ok I see
Then I’ll get that one instead
iirc
AMD sweet spot is 6000 MT/s CL 30
Intel one is 6400 MT/s CL 32
but you don't lose much performance on it
maybe 3% going from 6400 MT/s CL 30 to 6000 MT/s CL 32
you can always overclock it later by 2 CL usually without issues
tuning the sub-timings would give you more performance then that though
I’ll get the ripjaw one then since it’s better
And cheaper too
And it’s free shipping
If it's 6000mhz and it's 30cl it's good
Brand doesn't really matter
Just make sure it's ddr5
I found one
Nice
It’s RGB DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz
And the cl is 30?
Yes
You say yes, but the image says it's 36? Or am I reading it wrong?
I have no idea
Is 36 too much?
Or too little?
Nvm it says it may not work with amd processors very well
So I’m going to stick to the ripjaw ram
It’ll just run a bit slower than the Corsair ddr5 one
Why? Wat is the MHz and cl on that one?
Doesn’t ddr4 run a bit slower than ddr5?
Do not get ddr4
Your motherboard only supports ddr5
Then I’ll be sticking to the Corsair one which has ddr5
And 6000mhz cl30?
I found one that has cl30 and 6000mhz
Alright, if it's not a lot more expensive than the Corsair 6000 cl36 one, take that
It’s 24 bucks more which I don’t mind
Sounds good!
As long as it works that’s what matters
Fair lol
