support tuning for Bender
Before I print Bender's giant head and make a mess and waste a ton of filament, Is it possible to tune the supported side of a print to have a nicer finish like you would expect on the top? My prints tend to come out like the attached image, but with Bender's head (see https://discord.com/channels/582187371529764864/800467971977379900/1186333462161019040) it's impossible to orient the model in a way that doesn't involve supports.

To clarify, it's impossible to orient the model so that supports aren't required on the outside surface
The ideal solution would be an IDEX/MMU system with soluble support material, but I am guessing you don´t have access to that. However, even in that case it should still be possible to tune some of the support settings to make the bottom surface look better. Personally I don´t use a lot of supports, but this guide gives a good overview of some of the settings you could try tuning: https://www.instructables.com/Best-Support-Settings-for-3D-Printing/

Best Support Settings for 3D Printing
Best Support Settings for 3D Printing: Supports in 3D printing are essential to print objects with overhanging parts. But it is really a pain in the annoying to search for the perfect settings, so the supports are easy to remove, and the object not deformed by the supports.
I have tested…
Thanks, I will give that a look
