Chunks not being fully loaded
I have been messing with the chunks to see why they aren't loading, it almost seemed as if distant horizons wasn't even working. But i set my render distance to 2 and there still were chunk there being rendered by DH, but it's set for 128, not whatever small number I was currently seeing, so i set my MC render distance to 5 then took this video. I do have a few mods enable, I am in a single player world, but i never got any error messages. The video demonstrates how some chunks which i have explored are loaded, but unexplored ones haven't. Here's the Latest log and a list of mods.

this is what happened when i flew closer to the ground as well. (I haven't changed anything, and it just started happening. i didn't notice before)
Try doing this:
Mod travelersbackpack uses the version fabric-1.20.1-9.1.11 which isn't compatible with Loader's extended semantic version format (Could not parse version number component 'fabric'!), SemVer is recommended for reliably evaluating dependencies and prioritizing newer version
also try changing overdraw prevention
so remove travelers backpack mod?
is that in DH settings?
found it
but I removed the backpack mod
it's working just abouit the same tho
it KINDA works, but it's so slow and even the vanilla chunks load faster than it
i still have the same problem with unexplored chunks with default render distance aren't loaded, but ones i have seen with default render distance, do load from further away
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)completely new world
2 chunk MC render distance
looks to be working. world gen will be slower with shaders enabled
but it feels like it should be running faster than THAT
I've seen others load faster than that before
what cpu do you have?
Ryzen 5 4500
then that speed is expected
it's that bad?
the cpu is not a high end chip, no
I know that, but it just seems slower than normal
I thought it was mid manged
it is not, sorry
oh, big sad
alright then, thanks
np!
That's good
