Would this military replica smock work in place of J Crew's military inspired smock?
I saw dieworkwear's tweets about J Crew's 2018 canoeist smock (https://twitter.com/dieworkwear/status/1790221094265540632 and image 1) and I am really liking how the piece looks. The only thing I can find similar to it on the internet is a military replica of the piece that likely served as the inspiration for the J Crew version. See here: https://onlinemilitaria.net/products/8744-uk-sbs-and-royal-navy-canoeist-smock/ and image 2
My question: I know military surplus/vintage is plenty popular in menswear, so is military replica doable too? Namely this piece.

For a brief moment in 2018, J. Crew offered these "canoeist smocks" inspired by something elite British naval officers wore during WWII. The design was so cool—the kind of thing you'd typically only see from specialty Japanese brands.

What Price Glory is generally speaking very true to the originals from what I hear from a bunch of people (including reenactors), one of the best. Could mean the construction is a tiny bit sloppy here and there, just like the real deal... fashion brands might actually do the details better at times. Even if that's the case who would we be to complain with their prices tho 😛
Thanks for the replies. It did look pretty close, but I was unsure if replica material can work as non-reenacting clothing, but it sounds like from yall that it can just the same as original surplus/etc
