Following - also need suit.
the madison didnt fit me perfectly, I will post some images
heres how the madison 46R fit
considering just finding the same suit in Linen or similar summery material
Omg so exciting!
Have you considered a blazer rather than a suit?
Looks like a pretty standard suit to me
Price range?
price range and whatcha want
why is this? the dress code for this event is "cocktail"
which is said as "suit and tie"
price range i guess $150...
Id like to use the same tie and shoes/belt
so perhaps a Navy color would look good
You’re gonna have to do eBay or secondhand for that price range
yes
Ok
the suit pictured is a 1818 brooks bros i got for 150
I don’t understand, what’s the question
I think a blazer and tie would be fine for that dress code. And if you get a blazer, you can pair it with different pants
But it basically sounds like you need to do what you did before, but search for "linen".
I basically never wear suits, but I need one for when odd jackets won’t do. Looking for an unstructured more casual type thing in cotton or something. High rise trousers (13 inch minimum) is a must. I tried the universal works London jacket with matching trousers but that didn’t fit me. Style wise I liked it though. No darts would be a plus for me.
You've done the hard part, which is identify a brand and size that fits you
"women are encouraged to wear knee length/long dresses and men are encouraged to wear a suit and tie"
I think a blazer isnt an option
this is more semi-formal than cocktail imo
but whatever
I still don’t understand, what’s the question you’re asking
Let’s keep the price range open for now. But for 1500 up I might as well go m2m.
Word! If you want I can DM you or you can start a new thread and I’ll put stuff on there
Feels like a diff question
Hmm
well the suit pants fit well
If i could buy a blazer to go with it?
Don’t wear suit pants on their own
Yeah I’ll start a thread
eBay
Brooks Brothers Saxxon Madison Men's Gray Herringbone Pleated Front...
Pleated Front. Length from bottom of collar to bottom hem: 31.5 ". Leg Opening: Cuff: 9.5". Inseam: 29" (Let Out 1"). Rise: 14.5".
the Pants seem to be a 38? but the last suit was a 40 and fit perfectly
but the label is the same
46/41
so perhaps the pants were taken in and can be let out?
what is saxxon wool?
This doesn't look like a summer suit?
Perhaps it’s not?
Idk…
What am I looking for lol
Saxxon wool is a warm wool
Oh no
Ok so that’s no good
Yeah you'll want to look for tropical/high twist wool or linen or linen-wool
Ugh ok
I’ll look
This ain’t going to easy
no, but you've done it before
eBay
Brooks Brothers Madison 1818 two button charcoal suit
Brooks Brothers 1818 Madison gray textured suit, size 46R. Previously loved and in excellent condition. Non smoking and pet free house.
eBay
Vintage Brooks Brothers Gray Wash And Wear Suit Cotton Blend 46L Ma...
There is a small stain on the front lower portion of the jacket. Fade lines at cuff / hem fabric folds may be visible if trouser length is altered. Trousers: Approximate size 38 waist x 30.5" length.
I'd browse around ebay with search terms like "brooks brothers lightweight suit" or "summer suit" or specific materials like "tropical wool" "linen" etc.
wash and wear is great cause it's pretty lightweight (cotton poplin I think?) and you can literally throw it in the washing machine
I will keep looking
I have over a month so
Any suggestions for a hot weather suit for business and conferences? Like attending a professional conference in a hot setting like summer las vegas or california where you'd be walking quite a bit outside
Ok I hate to ask this, but can anyone help me search ebay for a suit.. cant seem to find anything
I really dont want to spend money on another suit..
but will a woll suit really be bad for summer?
others in this thread definitely know much more about suits than I do, but there are some thinner/looser-weave wool suits that are okay for summer weather. part of the heat retention also comes from the suit lining too, so maybe something that has no lining or is partially-lined too.
well the suit i have idk how heavy it is?
i wore it indoors in october
and it was fine
im just going to suck it up and wear the wool suit
i cant afford a new suit tbh
I honestly don’t think it’s a bad idea as long as the suit isn’t too heavy. At a certain temp/humidity it’s a lost battle anyway
I mean it’s a suit
Idk if it’s too heavy?
I’ll take the jacket off it gets hot
It’s not like I need to wear it all night. No one wears it dancing
Ping pong
Ok so
I may be being stupid here
But I got frustrated trying to eBay a BB 1818 Madison suit
It was hard to find anything from a seller that seems good
And idk what else fits me
I’ve got 2 weeks only so..
2 weeks id tank it
It’s one day. Everyone will be hot. Drink cool bevs to combat it. Dance your butt off and sweat buckets anyway
It won’t look dumb?
You’ve seen the suit
Dumb why? It's a suit.
It's a good suit.
Because it looks like a “winter suit”
I wore a winter suit to get married in June and did not look dumb.
Honestly I think just use this one this one time and then after maybe buy a suit if you still think it was too hot.
Fair
I want to dress it up a bit
Maybe a knit tie
Knit ties are great. Very MFA. I've gotten some from Tie Bar that are nice and reasonably priced.
Hmm what color
What color is your suit?
White
I could get a dif one
Maybe I should?
your suit is white?
No sir
The shirt is white
The suit is charcoal
Wool flannel
