Stringing Isue

Hello. I use "clone (Non original)mosquito magnum hotend" on my v core 3.1 printer. I use cura as a slicer. When I set the retraction setting to 5mm, there is no threading or speciation, but since I use a direct-drive extruder, the filament bubbles and constantly clogs at the 5mm retraction setting. That's why I reduced the retraction distance to 2mm, but as you can see in the picture, it leaves too much thread. When you make it 2mm less, it becomes more. I use esun pla+. The printer operates at 205 degrees. My preasure_advance setting is 0.04. No matter what I did, I couldn't fix this threading. Do you think my problem will be solved if I replace the hotend part with dragonfly BMO? Also, the filament is very dry and I just bought it today.

I would try using a retraction tower to find the ideal retraction value for your printer. There is an auto tower generator plugin for cura that will create a retraction tower and automatically change the retraction settings for each value: https://marketplace.ultimaker.com/app/cura/plugins/Kartchnb/AutoTowersGenerator I would start with a tower with 1mm increments and from there go all the way down to a tower with 0.1mm increments to find the correct value.

Hello. Thank you for your suggestion, but there is a problem with this test edition. Since I use full-metal hotend and direct drive extruder, I cannot use more than 1mm retraction setting. If I use it, the filament swells up and gets clogged. But when you use 1mm or less, it creates threading like this. My filaments are new and moisture-free.

In that case I would try with 0.1mm intervals starting at 1mm, there should be a point between where it clogs and where you get stringing. But for a direct drive extruder this range is usually quite small. Otherwise you could also try varying your retraction speed while keeping the distance at 1mm. Another thing you could try is reducing your temperature. I haven’t used esun PLA but for most PLAs 205 should be fine, so this isn’t the first thing I would try. Then again both stringing and pla clogging can be caused by printing too hot.
