DH forgets to load chunks (DH 2.1-RC1)
While deleting and regenerating 1024 RD DH chunks I noticed that chunks are not loading. When I disabled distance generations some chunks started loading far apart from each other, and only after world restart they actually showed up.

Also, even though I could swear all chunks are generated and loaded, disabling distant generation reduced CPU usage by 50% and more then doubles my fps...
Well 1024 RD is a lot, I will keep my game in the bg and see what happens
If you open the F3 menu you can see if the world generator is running or not.
At 1024 render distance you can expect the world generator to be running more than 24 hours straight.
Now working for me, I think I corrupted something.
DH is working correctly, but this metric is perma stuck and console is spammed with errors and warnings
I will need to create a new instance
Also I think you misunderstood the issue, I know that chunks are generating, the problem is that when a lod is generated it does not load (is not visible), because (I think) generation of other lods steals CPU resources required to display it, but after a world reload (exit the world and join back in), it firstly load the lods and then generates new ones, that's how I know it generated them but never showed to me

It isn't especially bad, but can really confuse someone to think that generation is super slow even at max preset and 100% CPU usage
Ah, gotcha. Yup that’s correct, if the CPU preset is very high the world gen can overload the loading.
