I'm not sold on the cut of the shirt. Seems to fit through the chest but pulling at the last button

yup, notice the fabric pulling at the buttons. and that’s not even in motion so I would say cut/size issue

How's the collar when fully buttoned? I think it looks better at the waist but big elsewhere now. More of a shape/cut issue than a size issue

I think if you’re not wearing a tie the second shirt is fine But ultimately this shirt pattern isn’t great and if you keep it then long term you may want to get it altered

This is a dress shirt, you should tuck the shirt in.

it's on oxford cloth button down shirt. Not a dress shirt. It can be worn tucked or untucked depending on the length it's a casual shirt.
