@Beansyboy221 mind helping me set up a fan curve? I have no idea where to look.
tool
I believe
Don't see anything fan related
hw monitor?
I remember it being to the right of the advanced tab
Are there any options on the right side?
No, but there are some below it
hold on, lemme try opening my bios
👍
Think I found it
Yup
Fan-tastic
Great name
Yeah. It be hidden
Copy these settings too
Sure 👍
I use -10 on curve optimizer with these and haven’t had a crash in years
What cpu?
Except for the time my ram failed lol
5900x
Nice
Oh yeah you said that
It is great for server hosting
High core count helps a lot with mc
And the clocks are crazy
Really? I've heard the opposite
That a minecraft server is mostly singtreaded
Vanilla sure
Use c2me with DH and no
Aah
I have spent so long finding the optimal settings for client and server
I barely even play the game at this point
Is this okay?
Nice
Looks fine to me
might be a bit steep though
Try setting the first point at 50, 25
then ramp up from there
Do you have watercooling?
Nope
ok
Peerless assassin
nice
that is a great cooler
So I've heard
Do you use generational Z as your gc?
looks better
No, I don't have a different than default gc
And I've never heard of generational z
That is my secret
it makes a HUGE perf difference
you can allocate 12gb+ of ram and see zero spikes
What are the java arguments?
You need this version 21 or higher of this JVM:
https://aws.amazon.com/corretto/
The args are:
-XX:+UseZGC -XX:+ZGenerational
How much ram u got?
32
set your min and max memory alloc to 12288
That is exactly what I run
Nice imma look into it! (not today because it's 23.32)
These mods plus iris and DH are excellent
fair lol
Never heard of alternate current or particle core
particle core culls particles better than sodium
alternate current helps with redstone a bunch
I have ruled out all other perf mods as bad or redundant with these
Huh, thanks!
like moreculling, memoryleakfix, badoptimizations, mobtimizations, servercore, etc.
no prob
you need these configs too
this should be compatible with nearly every content mod too
I had servere frame time issues when entering my villager trading hall without one of the culling mods, so I also use that one
modernfix is a hidden gem
it handles so much
c2me is also really misunderstood
it requires the gc and ram changes to work at its best
most ppl try to use it with 6 core cpus and 4gb or ram allocated
nvidium is a good mod too
but doesn't matter if u use iris
I love nvidium+bobby
you don't need bobby anymore
That's what gives me the biggest boosts
nvidium caches its own chunks and stores them
Noo??
Not of you relog
you have to enable it in settings
it should?
unless I am misremembering
lemme test
I'm pretty sure it doesnt
u got me curious
Done
I set one of the fans to low...
It is now making a weird noise
Haha
ah, I see now
yeah, you need bobby to reload
I don't think the case fan liked being at 10%
Put it at 20 now
Hopefully that's better
Jep that did it
No
It did not
imma stress test my cpu real quick with bobby c2me
should be pretty flashy
Gl!
That's why you undervolt, so that doesn't happen
Love it
the bottleneck was the creative mode flight speed lol
/effect give @s minecraft:speed infinite 100 true
that doesn't affect flight speed no?
just walk, swim, and run
I thought
It does when in spectator I think
ooh
does spectator generate chunks?
Yes
testing now
that could be crazy
isn't working
oh
there is probably a mod I could get though
scrolling with your mousewheel while in spectator also makes you go faster
uhm, where is windows? https://docs.aws.amazon.com/corretto/latest/corretto-21-ug/downloads-list.html
Downloads for Amazon Corretto 21 - Amazon Corretto 21
List of downloads for Amazon Corretto 21.
never mind found it on github
ooh, its a scroll thingy
i didnt even notice
i decided i dont need sleep
@Beansyboy221
do i need to uninstall normal java or smth?
shouldn't
you have to set it as your active jvm though
aah
here
and disable java compat check
yeah, try auto detect
see if it finds corretto 21
it did!
alright, looks good, thank you very much for your time!
no problem
I have fun with this kind of thing
lmk if you notice any issues
gentlemen i would like to announce that my fan curve settings has made my gpu stress test temps from 110 degrees celsius down to 60
Nice, I assume it also makes more noise?
as noisy as your regular housefly on a tuesday morning
wholeheartedly can recommend "Fan Control"
Looks very clean! But the bios works fine so I'll just stick with that for now
