Aid making a choice between cardigans
Outside of the Madewell garment being double the cost of the J.Crew cardigan and the difference in materials - Madewell has some wool - is there any reason to pick Madewell over J.Crew here?

Do you prefer the cut of one over the other? Wool will be a little warmer
The Madewell one shows as cheaper to me (probably because 🇬🇧 )
The j crew cardigan is made of sweatshirt material, not really typical knit fabric for cardigans. That may or may not matter to you.
j crew cardigan is on final sale; in my experience it's been rather hit or miss especially for knits and i don't know if i'd roll the dice on something nonreturnable
