I've been staring at my screen for about 3 hours and can't figure out for the life of me this fix
Long story short, I have the mod showing in game, I've set the distance to 500 for ref, but it's not loading past my Render Distance... I've included my Mod list hoping some fresh eyes can help... This is MC 1.18.2, Using Forge, and the correct version of DH + Iris

only version of Iris 1.7 is compatible with shaders (also shaders have to be compatible, but more and more are)
Oculus (which is forge port of iris) did not yet update to iris 1.7, and after secondhand info about related drama on april fools, it is unknown if there ever will be such update
and no, Iris does not work with connector
okay, I should note I removed Iris before anything else since it's Fabric. Then went over to Oculus, but I'm at the problem you've mentioned. I Have to stick to 1.18.2 MC for a project, is there any other ways I can get around this?
oh right... anything below mc 1.20 is considered "dead" by iris, so tough luck on getting proper shader support
get optifine as your shader loader and follow the legacy guide here

Even outside of shader support, The mod is present in the game, it's loading fine, But won't actually generate and LOD chunks, I even set the distance to 500 for a dramatic result as a test but will only show my render distance... Any idea why on this?
It doesn't show Lod's even if shaders are off

The mod is loading though, I can access the UI and change it's config... But It wont load anything

Jep, remove oculus and the chunks will be visible
Oculus only messes with the rendering, stopping the rendering of anything that aren't vanilla chunks. That's why you can still interact with the dh ui

I know not everyone likes OF
but becasue it's implementation of shaders is dumb it does not clear out things rendered by other mods, so it somewhat works with DH

Optifine did indeed crash
The project I work on needs a lot of Optifine replacements rather OF so it won't get past the launcher
Oculus has a version that is compatible with DH but it’s buggy and only for 1.20.1.

Not sure if this caused drama but they did an @ everyon and said there’s a new DH-compatible version of oculus and had a link that was a rickroll
there's an actual DH-compatible version of Oculus, but it's very experimental

Never gonna happen sadly, I don't think Iris 1.7 is coming to 1.19, much less 1.18.
