Multiplayer Dimension Support
So I made the mistake of changing the alternate dimension support dial to .5 mid game after covering over half of a 10k x 10k play area. This was fine at first because when I switched to the main lobby it would generate separately and when I go back into the world it would use the other LOD.
After opening it the next day I realized that it had in fact thrown out both LODs to what I can only assume is start anew to make a clear difference between dimensions despite the mod already making that distinction just fine yesterday?
If there's any way I can assign the old LOD file to the correct overworld that would be great but if not I just want to be able to get it back again. I don't want to spend 5 weeks of my spare time filling out chunks again.

Before you can ask, no. This is a community server, I cannot ask for the world file due to other people wanting their corner of the world to be private.
Also yes I read the FAQ, this isn't about enabling or disabling support for it, this is about reclaiming lost files or assigning files to correct dimensions after the fact, which the FAQ does not mention.
I’m not sure how DH works in these situations but you should check if DH really deleted those LODs. With the area you filled out the LOD file size should be pretty large
If it really just deleted everything then I don’t think there’s a way to recover it unless you have a backup somewhere
The files are still there, I just don't know how to get the game to use them. The main .sqlite file is just under 10 million kb large and it's probably going to reach 15 mil by the time I'm done.
That is if I can even get it back.
Your best bet is to wait for someone who knows how multiverse files are stored (I don't)
Like is it multiple files? One big file with multiple worlds? I have no idea
Obviously it's stored with the 3 main dimensions in mind, except under overworld there are 6 files with filler names that all but one have another .sqlite and player data file stored in them, all of the .sqlite files are of various sizes, 2 of them 32 kb, but player data is a constant 0.
I'm assuming this is something to due with the multidimensional support but I don't know what to do or how to do anything with them.
I'm going to try and take them all out to see if it fixes anything but if it all breaks I have a complete backup of the file state anyway.
Jep, your best bet is indeed to just backup and try. Hope you figure it out man, sucks to lose that much work
Yeah it fixed it.
Nice!
Sorry forgot the language rule, my bad.
I do not recommend doing this yourself because I personally don't know if it secretly messed up something but I just deleted all the garbage files.
Alright, as long as you have a backup it shouldn't be a problem
I do.
