GPU/Processor recommendation
(Yes I did read the FAQ. This is something not there) I'm just gonna preface this by saying I have no clue what is good or not. I realize my GPU is probably pretty bad, and I'm not really sure how my processors are, but I want to use DH2 without having things take forever to load unless I'm using size LOD quality, and maybe be able to run some custom world gen like terratonic while I'm at it. Currently I have a
amd ryzen 5 3600 6-core
and an RX 5500 XT
(also I have 16 gigs of RAM but that doesn't change much, I've already allocated more to MC and that didn't help much). Currently I'm not really thinking about prices so lets assume I'm going for a 1,000 USD budget. Can anybody tell me what is currently is limiting my performance and recommend something more capable?Solution:Jump to solution
The generation times are heavilly CPU restricted... Raw multithread performance. This is because vanilla generation is slow.
So if you want to join new world and be ready to make a screenshot would need a threadripper, but thats not expected use case.
Expected use case is to slowly generate it the background while you normally play, as generating +256RD can take cluple hours.
The render on the other hand is really light. Sure to get block resolution far out it's not "no inpact", but I was able to test my gtx750 with this mod and it was fine....

Yes, I did read the FAQ for the record.
Multiple times
each one
I've already done everything in the FAQ. It has helped. And I used it for some other issues as well. But nothing, NOTHING In the faq about PC specs, which, fair enough, but thats why I'm using this channel, not because I'm a one of those people who just search for the keyword to unlock these channels.

The shaders however always were and will always be much more demanding, and require a more powerful gpu. (I test it fine with 4060)
