X & Y moves when should only move one of it.
Im setting up a new machine, Im using a octopus v1.1. The wiring seems to be fine, it is a custom machine 1m3 volume.
When a move the X axis the Y axis meves the same amount, the same happens when i move the Y axis,.. the X axis moves. so strange.
I googled it a lot but could not solve the problem. Does anyone had the same problem? any clue?
Regards!

your x axis isn't 90° to your Y axis. Because the X axis is slanted like this it forces the tools head to move in both X and Y
Thanks for your prompt response. I don't think that's the problem. The motors are activated, both, electrically, it is not a mechanical problem. I am following this wiring diagram https://os.ratrig.com/docs/boards/btt/octopus-11
that's correct. A core-xy machine uses both motors to move in pure X and Y direction. If you only activate one motor it will move diagonally in X and Y
Now I understand!... the printer I am building is not coreXY... this is the situation. I built a 1 cubic meter printer, I had it running using ramps and Arduino. I am upgrading to the octopus 1.1 and raspberry pi using RatOS... since the machine I am building does not fit into any of the predefined options, what I did is randomly select one that was the voron 2.4, I did not realize it was a core XY.
I guess I'll have to start from scratch using the custom machine template.
The printer in question has 4 Z motors. Any recommendation?
Thank you in advance, your answers have been very helpful.
cartesian type. I would look at the klipper documentation for more info since Rat-OS is just prepackaged klipper with other tools
