Octo board not behaving correctly

I'm trying to set up a VCore 3 but I was having a belt issue which I got fixed, but now the Octo board is doing weird things. Its showing 4 new green lights that I haven't seen before, is outputting power to the hotend when I plug it into the power outlet, isn't powering the raspberry pi, and crashes RatOS when the raspberry pi is independently powered with a 500 internal server error. I thought reflashing the board might fix it but I'm having trouble with that as well. Should I get a new board, or is there maybe a way to fix it? Thanks for any help.

Try flashing via SD card. Make sure it gets renamed to firmware.cur instead of firmware.bin when it's done Lot of that sounds like wrong firmware to me Also, I don't understand how a bad control board would cause a 500 Internal server error.

Okay, I'll give that a try So I cant get the firmware to flash, the board is plugged in to the raspberrry pi but the board doesnt have any lights turning on, and I cant tell if anything is happening when I press the reset button

Please explain what you have connected to the heater and bed-out ports. From the image, it looks suspicious…

Agreed, please take a wider shot showing where those heater wires are going/coming from

HE0 is connected to the hotend, HE1 is connected to the bed heater. The wiring diagram says that the hotend is connected to HE0, but now that you point it out it doesnt show the bed heater cables being connected

bed heater is connected to SSR

Okay so Ive moved the bed heater wires to the SSR like in the picture, but I'm still not getting a change in temperature even though the SSR light is on. Ive double checked the octo board power wiring, and the bed out is connected to the SSR.

Again, please make a simple drawing of what you have connected. Because now it looks like you connected both ends of the bed heater to the SSR... Although I’m afraid that judging from what I saw, you should consult an electrician for setup. Please be careful! To test if the board works, I’d start by removing all cables, except the thermistors. In this configuration, the board can start up Klipper without warnings (once configured via RatOS).

Agreed with Flo, I don't think you have the heater hooked up correctly still. What picture are you following?

This is what I have set up, TheTik said the bed heater is connected to the SSR so I did that. I've gone over the wiring instructions repeatedly to try and find where it says to put the two white bed heater wires, and I still cant find it, I must be missing something. If I could also get a drawing of where those go that would be very helpful.

Well yes the SSR is connected to the bed heater, but not like this… The AC part of the printer can lead to serious harm if you do it wrong, and I don’t feel comfortable giving any guide on how to wire things. This is the reason this isn’t included in the dozuki either. I think you should consult an electrician for help! :ratrig_heart:

Thanks blacksmith, that's very helpful. I've worked with other printers and SSR's in other circumstances, but Flo is right, this is over my head. An electrician is the way to go. Thanks for everybody's help.
