What colors to avoid with dark gray and charcoal pants?
I've read these are less versatile than light and mid grays. Which colors should be avoided for shirts and jackets?

Some people say one should not wear a navy blazer with charcoal pants as the colours are similar enough to look like a mismatched suit. I personally disagree, although I think it likely creates a more formal look, especially if they are made from wool.
imo charcoal gray is fairly versatile, really the only thing i would avoid is a similarly dark shirt, jacket and pant all together
depending on how dark the pants are a black jacket might also read as a mismatched suit

i wear charcoal flannels with a navy sportcoat. it looks great!

Here are I was considering (the first is actually faded black on the Bonobos site, there seems to be a ton of variation in what gets called charcoal)
