Favorites Series: Quilted / Puffer / Down Jackets - Topic of the day 2/22/24
What are your favorite quilted jackets, puffer jackets, or down jackets? Favorite brands at low medium and high price points? What do you look for in these jackets? What brands have been great for them and what brands have really let you down? Feel free to share a few of your favorite fits or inspo that feature these jackets, too. (Note: the Favorites Series will be running ~weekly as a new way of doing the "Best X for $X" threads from a few years ago on MFA.)

puffers/quilted jackets and vests are so cool imo because they spread across a ton of styles. They're integral to GORP, various flavors of streetwear, tech wear, and a huge item in milsurp in the form of quilted liners and such.
You can find v ivy styles from Barbour, LL Bean, Lands End, etc. Or western ones like from RMFB. Vintage parkas are awesome as well
Rocky mountain feather bed goated in this category
Isn't North Face Nuptse pretty classic? Not sure it holds up nowadays, particularly with regard to quality.
I have a Patagonia Jackson Glacier jacket. My standard Patagonia disclaimer applies: I love it for the quality and functionality, not necessarily how fashionable it is.
that ai pic of the pope goes hard ngl
from a functional standpoint i LOVED cotopaxi's kusa jackets with the alpaca down - warm without being overly bulky or constricting and i was disappointed (but understand why) they pivoted away from it
theyre still pretty good honestly
Some great recommendations so far. Others I would like to highlight: Crescent Down Works, Frizmworks, Nanga, Snow Peak, vintage Eddie Bauer, Nigel Cabourn, Goldwin, Woolrich, Fjallraven, Beams, Gramicci, Kapital, Visvim, and Veilance.
cotopaxi/kuhl/arcteryx on the lower end, moncler if you want to spend a bit of money. maybe canada goose in the mid range?
Something I have looked at is the barbour international belted puffers
