MCU Protocol Error after updats
I ran bunch of updates today and now getting the following error message. I did grab the firmware for my Skr2 and loaded but didn't help. It seems I am on V11 of Klipper and need to go to 12?
Klipper reports: ERROR
"MCU Protocol error
This is frequently caused by running an older version of the
firmware on the MCU(s). Fix by recompiling and flashing the
firmware.
Your Klipper version is: v0.12.0-114-ga77d0790-dirty
MCU(s) which should be updated:
mcu: Current version v0.11.0-219-g645a1b83
rpi: Current version v0.12.0-114-ga77d0790
Up-to-date MCU(s):
<none>
Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the "RESTART"
command to reload the config and restart the host software.
mcu 'mcu': Command format mismatch: query_adxl345 oid=%c rest_ticks=%u vs query_adxl345 oid=%c clock=%u rest_ticks=%u
Not really sure how best to upgrade? SSH in to my pi and then what?
Thanks (logs attached)

ahh, looks like there is only partial support for this board
https://os.ratrig.com/docs/boards/btt/skr-2-429
and so you have manually flash it again
yea thanks. I' ve done this in the past and thought I did so today but didn't seem to work. I'll read through and see if that helps.
oh so I need to reload RatOS all ovef again?
@blacksmithforlife πΊπΈ thank you so much. I'm back up and running. Funny in the past I was able to grab the firmware file for my skr2 in mainsail but it had the older version. I guess this is the way forward. Worked really well even for a beginner like myself. Too bad this kit contained this board where you need to take these extra steps but not too hard. I'll save the link you posted for future.
No definitely not π
Ha this newer process just works so smoothly. Nice work. π
Thank you!
Hi, I have the exact same error, but I'm using the BTT Octopus Pro 446, which shouldn't have a support issue (version numbers slightly different but otherwise error is identical).
Annoyingly, there seems to be acknowledgement of this issue on the the 446 config page, but the link there doesn't work. It looks to be a link back to RatOS/mainsail, which just takes me back to this page.
There is a directory in my machine tab for
firmware_binaries
but it's looks last updated May 18, 2023. So that's probably not the binary I need to flash.Should I just reload RatOS from scratch? Not excited about that, but i can
please start your own post
Okay, I apologize, thought it would be better to keep it together
