Buying GiftCards or Credit?
Hey, Wondering if there is a way to buy a limited amount of credit on railway. We're at a hackathon rn with https://HackClub.com/ and I need to host a nodejs Project with domain. Free trial is over though.

you would have to upgrade your account to hobby plan to purchase credits.

Oh, here is the problem.
HC (HackClub) is sponsoring it, so they are purchasing it for the week / month. Since it is on the Org Card, they can't have it recurring.
Oh hey @ThallesComH
Then you'll have to cancel the subscription after you sign up
I remember you
You'll pay the 5$ fee immediately, which adds 5$ of credits to your account
From there, you can add more credits if you need, or just cancel the subscription
If I cancel it, will I have the credits still?
Once the subscription is cancelled, you'll revert back to the trial plan, but with 5$ of credits
yes
Those credits will last for 1 month
Alright! Sounds good!
and also, you can remove the need to prepaid credits by using pay as you go with hard limits

For a hackathon, I'm assuming their project won't cost more than 5$
π
We have it alr
Hitting more than 5$ would cause a recurring payment, which wouldn't be great for you
We just wanted to use a 24/7 hosting service.
Oh I see.
yeah but anyway it would be good to set hard limits to not get a surprise bill + also removes the need to prepaid credits which may not be used
That's why I'm proposing just cancelling the subscription
Alright, sounds good!
You won't be able to get over the 5$ no matter what
Excited to host this!
oh makes sense
Yeah hard limits would help if their project would be more than 5$, but I'm assuming it'll be less
Good luck!
Thanks!
min hard limit is 10$
